In my opinion, when you have two major directors come together as one, like Steve Spielberg and Peter Jackson. This means it's got to be EPIC.

Ready, Set, METROPC'S Scottish Rite White Rock Run!!!

On December 4th the marathon, half-marathon capped out-13,000, 5-person relay-6,000, and corporate relay race 6,000 has sold out today.
Proceeds of the race directly benefited Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. Anyone can fundraise for the hospital through personalized fundraising pages available at the marathon’s website. Not to mention the sponsors.
There were 40 bands ranging from rock, funk, country, soul, hip-hop and pop. Spread out through the running course of 26.2 miles and sea of people.
Despite, the pour cold rain the race marathon still continued. The runners felt a little traction. It wasn't great when your in the rain.
I will point out this year was a qualifying meet for the  Olympics. Some people were veteran at this Marathon. There was a $5,000 reward for the finish. This marathon raised $105,546.
There were key runners male and female. Especially, from Plano High Schools and graduates who were representing Texas in a great way.
Runners course beginning at 8 a.m. started from Fair Park, Swiss Ave., Ross, Lakewood, McKinney Ave., Turtle Creek, Highland Park, Greenville Ave., and White Rock. Just to name a few.
The first start time came in one hour. According to other sources, Scott MacPherson cruised to a half-marathon victory with an unofficial time of 1:06:55. Sonya Correa won the women's half-marathon race with an unofficial 1:21:07.
This was a tune-up for MacPherson. He is running in the U.S. Olympic marathon trials next month and wanted one last hard effort before he started to taper off his training. A Plano native, he had never run the White Rock marathon or the half-marathon before.
He was pleased with his result, though he admitted the race wasn't easy because of the conditions. MacPherson said it was the coldest he had ever felt in a race.

Stephen A. Masker"The rain, that makes it feel so much colder," he said. "My quads, I got tight. The more I ran, the tighter I got."

As Usual In The Middle Of..Children's Hospital Neiman Marcus Parade 2011

So happy to be in the middle of everything. Yes! Even though it sprinkled with rain off and on it still didn't stop the 350,000 people who were at the parade. Will it be this way for the MetroPC's Scottish Rite White Rock Run that takes place tomorrow maybe different as far as the rain goes. You have the Macy's Parade but then for Texas you have the annual Children's Hospital Neiman Marcus Parade. Many attractions took place on December 3rd. It was all about the kids at Children's Hospital. I actually sat next to someone from there. The City Of Dallas allowed the parade to take up many streets to enjoy this special occasion. The Dart Rail was a great advantage to use for many families to come out but also the participants used the rail train to make it possible for us to enjoy the parade. As far as, other cities like Richardson Christmas Parade, Fort Worth Christmas Parade, Richland Hills Christmas Parade, and  other surrounding the Dallas/fort Worth Metroplex did not have a great turn out because of the rain considering thousands normally shows up. I speak from experience. Being that I participated in the Richardson Christmas Parade 2010
One of the highlights was Jordan Sparks, in which I thought she was going to sing in front of the Neiman Marcus building but didn't. When I did see her it seemed like she had a malfunction going on with her hair. This was strange considering this was an appearance. Lake Highlands Wranglers didn't disappoint as they performed at the parade. I look up and saw Richardson High School Eaglettes performing, as well. Hmm... I actually saw them on the train. Other highlights was World Series Champions our very own Texas Rangers, Rowdy Cowboy from the Cowboys, Elmo and his Goldfish, Santa and his Elves, Star Wars, Green Lantern, Girl Scouts Of North Texas etc...
