Uniqlo Is The New H&M Store Headed To Dallas Grand Opening Took Place In NY

Everyone has to start somewhere, right? A humble beginning for the owner-Tadashi Yanai of Uniqlo's which was originally, a men's store. Now,  a huge force to be reckoned with because it's a store for everyone. Makes a "BIG" debut on Friday, October 14, 2011 with their Flagship store. Where else would Yanai put it? Well, New York of course. When something is the next best thing. You can count on the lines being extremely long. Accompanying the long lines is the A-list celebrities like actress, Susan Sarandon, who played the mother in the movie Speed Racer and did the ads for the company. According to ABC, it opened its second store in the United States on Friday -- a whopping 89,000-square-foot, three-story flagship with cathedral ceilings and revolving mannequin displays on storied Fifth Avenue in New York City.  The opening ceremony was complete with a ribbon-cutting ceremony featuring New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg. Advertisements also feature Darren Criss of the TV show "Glee" and David Karp, founder of blog site Tumblr, along with several other celebrities diverse in age, ethnicity and background. Its first store, which opened in New York City's bustling and trendy shopping district, SoHo, in 2006, is more than 35,000 square feet in size. The chairman of the company, which originates from Japan, hopes Uniqlo will be the No. 1 retailer in the country, with a store in every major U.S. city, and have $50 billion in sales worldwide by 2020.
